About The Dangerous Summer

Named after a Hemingway book, The Dangerous Summer are an American rock band from Ellicott City, Maryland, who formed in summer 2006. Their stated influences range from Third Eye Blind, U2 and Jimmy Eat World to Bright Eyes, Phil Collins, Explosions in the Sky and Andrew McMahon. The band say they have sold more than 60,000 albums and 300,000 singles.

Their first EP, There Is No Such Thing as Science, drew label interest and led to a Hopeless Records deal in May 2007; it was reissued that August as If You Could Only Keep Me Alive. Debut album Reach for the Sun followed in May 2009, reaching number 42 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart, and "The Permanent Rain" featured in a trailer for Love Happens. War Paint arrived in 2011 and Golden Record in 2013. After AJ Perdomo left in 2014, he returned in 2017 as the band regrouped without Cody Payne, releasing a self-titled album in January 2018 and Mother Nature in 2019. Having parted from Hopeless in 2020, they put out Coming Home through Rude Records in August 2022 and Gravity two years later, both made in Richmond, Virginia.
