About The Reytons

Rotherham guitar band The Reytons have built a following the way few rock acts do now: from the town outwards, and without a major label behind them. Frontman Jonny Yerrell leads a line-up completed by lead guitarist Joe O'Brien, bassist Lee Holland and drummer Jamie Todd. They formed in 2017, with Sean O'Connor sitting in on drums for the first gig before stepping aside, and they have stayed independent by choice.

Their debut album, Kids Off the Estate, arrived on 12 November 2021 and entered the UK chart at number eleven. What's Rock and Roll? followed on 20 January 2023 and gave them a first UK number one, shortly after they had left their longtime label and decided against signing elsewhere. Ballad of a Bystander came out on 26 January 2024 and lost a close chart fight with James Arthur after more than 2,000 sales were deducted following an industry complaint. That July, they sold out a 20,000-capacity show in Clifton Park, Rotherham, the town's biggest live music event, which a Sheffield Hallam University study valued at £1 million to the local economy. In September 2024, a supposed Gary Neville cameo turned out to be a tour promotion.
