Two people, one apartment bedroom, and a sound that has travelled a long way. Amelia Meath, the singer, and Nick Sanborn, the producer, make American electropop from Durham, North Carolina, where the songs for their first album were recorded in Sanborn's bedroom. Their sound is built on Meath's vocals set against Sanborn's electronic production, a pairing that has carried them onto national television.

Their debut single, "Hey Mami", came first and was followed by a self-titled album on Partisan Records in May 2014, which reached No. 39 on the Billboard 200. A second album, What Now, followed on Loma Vista Recordings on 28 April 2017 and earned a Grammy nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Album. Free Love, their third, was announced in July 2020, and a fourth studio album, No Rules Sandy, arrived on 12 August 2022 on their Psychic Hotline label to positive reviews.
