Whitechapel

Named after the east London district where Jack the Ripper carried out his murders, Whitechapel are an American deathcore group from Knoxville, Tennessee. Loudwire has placed them among the genre's "Big Four", alongside Job for a Cowboy, Thy Art is Murder and Suicide Silence. Founded in 2006 by vocalist Phil Bozeman and guitarist Ben Savage, the band has since released nine studio albums and remains with Metal Blade Records. Their current lineup, bar the drummer, has held steady since Zach Householder joined on guitar in 2007.

Their 2010 album A New Era of Corruption, released on 8 June, sold around 10,600 copies in the United States in its first week and opened at No. 43 on the Billboard 200. The self-titled fourth record followed in 2012, debuting at No. 47, and Our Endless War in 2014 reached No. 10 with roughly 16,000 first-week sales. Mark of the Blade in 2016 drew greater critical acclaim, and The Valley in 2019 charted at No. 143. Their most recent album, Hymns in Dissonance, came out on 7 March 2025.
